Win marks another milestone in company’s rapid expansion in 2022

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–VideaHealth, a leading dental AI platform, today announced it has been named to the CB Insights’ fourth-annual Digital Health 150, which showcases the 150 most promising private digital health companies of 2022. Selected from a pool of more than 13,000 companies, VideaHealth’s inclusion on the exclusive list marks another milestone for the company since first securing its 510(k) clearance for Videa Caries Assist from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in April 2022. In addition to today’s CB Insights win, VideaHealth has recently been recognized as a Top 10 Software Product of 2022 by Dental Products Report, as well as a BostInno Fire Award honoree.

“The back half of 2022 has been a whirlwind. From our recent partnership with industry leader Henry Schein, to significant customer wins such as 42 North and New England Dental Group, we’ve quickly embedded our dental AI platform in the market,” said Florian Hillen, CEO of VideaHealth. “I’m proud our technology has had such a meaningful impact on our industry in just a matter of months. I can’t wait to share what 2023 will bring.”

Until this year, dentists have relied exclusively on direct practice experience to make treatment recommendations, which varies from practice to practice. Now large DSOs, and even small independent practices, are leveraging VideaHealth’s dental AI to identify clinical issues earlier, standardize treatment plans, and realize efficiency gains that allow them to focus on patient-centered care. As a result, the patient experience improves significantly, building trust.

In addition to the stated benefits to dentists and dental patients, VideaHealth’s dental AI moves the market toward greater medical/dental integration.

“The mouth is the gateway to the body. The potential impact of improved dental care on patient health cannot be overstated. Recognition on this year’s CB Insights Digital Health 150 list supports our position: dentistry is healthcare. Improved dental care has been proven to further reduce the risk of chronic diseases, such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease,” added Hillen.

Utilizing the CB Insights platform, the research team selected the 150 winners from a pool of over 13,000 private companies, including applicants, and nominees. They were chosen based on factors including R&D activity, proprietary Mosaic scores, market potential, business relationships, investor profile, news sentiment analysis, competitive landscape, team strength, and tech novelty. The research team also reviewed over 3,000 Analyst Briefings submitted by applicants.

“From reimagining clinical care, to leveraging tech like AR/VR to improve surgical training, this year’s Digital Health 150 winners are transforming the future of healthcare with digital technology,” said Brian Lee, SVP of CB Insights’ Intelligence Unit. “This increasingly global cohort, representing more than 18 countries across five continents, is not only driving better patient outcomes, but making healthcare more accessible. We are excited to follow the meaningful impact and continued success of this year’s winners.”

Quick facts on the 2022 Digital Health 150:

  • Unicorns: This year’s list includes only five unicorns with a $1B+ valuation, around 3% of the total list. For comparison, last year’s list contained 17. This tracks with a broader drop in new unicorns across sectors in 2022.
