Annual award celebrates the industry’s best and brightest leaders under the age of 40

SAN FRANCISCO, LOS ANGELES & SAN DIEGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Biocom California, the association representing the California life science industry, today announced the winners of its seventh annual Life Science Catalyst Awards. The awards celebrate the accomplished and up-and-coming academics, entrepreneurs, investors, corporate leaders and business advisers who are making their mark on the California life science industry before reaching their 40th birthday.

“The Catalyst Awards highlight the impressive spectrum of talent and tenacity present in the next generation of leaders in the life science industry,” said Joe Panetta, president and CEO of Biocom California. “This year’s winners are paving the way for future innovation and exemplify the ingenuity and passion that will propel the industry forward. Biocom California selected the 10 winners from an impressive pool of nominees from all facets of the life science industry, including pharma, diagnostics, venture funding, industrial biotech and digital health. The nominees were vetted statewide by a panel of industry leaders, subject matter experts, and past winners that considered factors including impact to their company, impact to their community and industry, accomplishments, leadership and innovation.

In alphabetical order, the Life Science Catalyst Award winners are:

  • Jun Axup, PhD, director of partnerships at E11 Bio
  • Monica Rivera Beam, PhD, senior vice president of science & technology at Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc., and Alexandria Venture Investments
  • Janice Chen, PhD, co-founder and chief technology officer of Mammoth Biosciences, Inc.
  • Elizabeth Redman Cleveland, chief strategist of sustainable growth at City of Berkeley
  • Michael Farrington, chief people and culture officer at NuVasive
  • Peyton Greenside, PhD, co-founder and chief scientific officer at BigHat Biosciences
  • Genevieve LeMarchal, managing partner at Suncoast Ventures and head of healthcare at Expert Dojo
  • Devan Shah, chief executive officer and founder of RNAV8 Bio
  • Samir Siddhanti, executive director of business development at Neurocrine Biosciences
  • Hanadie Yousef, PhD, chief executive officer and co-founder of Juvena Therapeutics, Inc.

The award winners will be highlighted in the Biocom California LifeLines digital platform and newsletter and celebrated at the annual “Celebration of Life” Gala on November 10, 2022.
